    For almost of our tours, once tour is confirmed and fully paid but for one reason they cancel the tour, the following charges will apply in the event of cancellation prior to tour commencement:

    • More than 45 days prior to trip departure: No charge (Full refund will be made but transaction fee will be paid by you).
    • 30-45 days before arrival: 10% of total tour price.
    • 15-29 days before arrival: 50% of total tour price.
    • 7-14 days before arrival: 75% of total tour price.
    • Within 7 days before arrival: 100% tour price.

    Note:

    • The above fees are subject to an added bank transaction fee.
    • There will be no refund given for any unused or missed ground arrangements, sightseeing, meals or hotel accommodations.
    • For no show cases, there will be no refund.

    In case of an unexpected situation/ bad weather causes an effect on your trip after commencement, we serve the right to change the itinerary of your booked tour for the safety of all clients in the group. If there are more than one solution, we will ask for your permission and agreement to do the next step. In such kind of cancellation, the refund of any payment on the un-used portion of transportation service, hotel service, car rental or tours will be given.

Itineraries

Day 1: Arrival in Vientiane - City Tour

On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to check in the hotel.

After a soft rest, start your “5-day Vientiane Tour” with the first visit to the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to Lao’s national icon, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop enrouted to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.
You are then free for the rest of the day to troll around the town for your own exploration.

Dinner will be served at the local restaurant with traditional dance & folk song, the best chance for you to have the first impression of Lao culture.

Day 2: Vientiane Countryside Exploration (Tuk Tuk Safari)

Our tuk tuk driver (also our guide) will pick you up at your hotel after breakfast, and take you to an organic rice, fish and vegetable farm on the outskirts of Vientiane. Run by a Lao non-government organisation using traditional Lao farming methods, this is the perfect place to try your hand at rice farming. The friendly farmers will show you how to get your feet wet planting rice seedlings (during rainy season), or if it’s harvest season then cut and thresh your own rice for lunch! Do a spot of fishing, collect fresh duck eggs, learn about organic fertiliser and how it is made, and harvest fresh seasonal organic vegetables and bamboo (if in season).
Once you’ve finished in the field, you’ll cook up a traditional Lao lunch with the days’ produce. Learn how to cook sticky rice and make papaya salad and sit down to enjoy a picnic-style lunch and a well-earned rest.
On the way back into town, we’ll take you to a local fresh food market to check out the amazing diversity of Lao food. Stop for a while in the market for a traditional Lao coffee or sample some delicious Lao sweets.
Transfer back to your hotel late afternoon. Overnight in Vientiane

Day 3: Orchid Trail Exploration (Phou Khaokhuay Trek) and Homestay

An early morning departure at 7:30am for the National Park at Phou Khao Khuay, the closest national protected area to Vientiane.
You arrive in the village of Ban Hatkhay at around 9:30am where you will be joined by two local guides with your freshly made Lao picnic. The Orchid Trek begins at Pha Say with its stunning view across a 40m deep gorge and the dense jungle. You follow narrow, shaded trails and discover the different types of forest in the park: semi-deciduous, tropical and bamboo – extraordinary, unspoilt habitats. You have the chance to learn about the medicinal uses of the forest plants and also the other plant types that abound in the forest. You take your picnic lunch in a dry river bed (depending on the season).
Your afternoon continues with a pleasant stroll to the waterfall at Tad Say before making your return to the village. You may be lucky and see some the colourful butterflies and birds that live in the forest.
Late afternoon our transport brings us back to Ban Hatkhai where we have dinner, and stay overnight in a villager’s home.

Day 4: Back to Vientiane

In the morning around we leave the village and after short drive we will reach the Tad Leuk Waterfall. Guided by local orchids expert we will hike for around 2 hours through dense forest along the river until we reach the beautiful Tad Sang (Elephant Waterfall) waterfall! This is idyllic place for bathing and relaxation. Enjoy lunch in this scenery. In the afternoon, we will continue hiking in thought dense forest, bamboo forest and keep your eyes open as along the way, a large number of orchids can be seen, especially in wet season.

After hiking we start our way back to Vientiane. On the way it is possible to visit the information centre to see photos and explanations on the fauna and flora of Phou Khao Khouay park.

We will reach Vientiane at around 18:30. Transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Vientiane
