Overview

Tuyen Lam Lake is located about 5km south of Dalat city center. The lake is made up of a well-known Tia stream, also known as Da Trea, the upstream of Da Tam river. No one knows the name of Tuyen Lam Lake was put by anyone, but perhaps, it was derived from the very majestic natural scenery of streams and forests. Tuyen is a stream and Lam is a forest. Tuyen Lam means where streams and forests are in harmony with each other. According to the Five Elements theory, Tuyen Lam is also the place where all things begin.

Tuyen Lam Lake is more than 360 hectares wide, this is a suitable place for sports activities, sightseeing, picnics such as hiking, fishing, and sailing. From a wild valley at a height of 1000m above sea level, Tuyen Lam Lake tourist area was transformed into an interesting destination in Da Lat.

The depth of the lake is over 30m. Lake water flows through the spillway consisting of 6 steps and is the source of water for the land areas at the foot of Prenn waterfall in the dry season. The water surface of Tuyen Lam Lake always looms the shadow trees. People said that King Bao Dai once stopped on hunting trips and named a small waterfall here as Bao Dai Waterfall.
